Gender Affirming (Trans) Voice

YouTube and Google can be useful tools, but are overwhelming and unreliable. A trained and experienced SLP can offer exercises, strategies, and voice perspectives all in one place.  

Learn to change and control the less predictable and obvoius aspects of your voice. Go to work, go out with friends, order food, or grab a coffee at Tims, without also wondering about how to navigate your voice.  We will work towards a voice that feels right.

We will explore:

  • Pitch

  • Resonance

  • Intonation

  • Speech patterns and rhythm

  • Vocal Quality

  • Loudness and projection

  • Language

  • Nonverbal communication

  • Non-speech vocalizations

We begin with an assessment, which includes voice recording and analysis, vocal hygiene, and identifying what makes a voice appealing to you.  Then we create a plan to help uncover your voice through evidence-based exercises and practice.  There is no pre-determined number of sessions, we do what you can do, and what it takes.

I have training in trauma-informed therapy, gender-affirming and voice therapy, and have been working in this area for 10+ years.
